WHAT IS CSA?
Get the freshest Certified Organic vegetables straight from the farm with Community Supported Agriculture! You’ll pay ahead of time, then receive a share of the farm’s harvest throughout the growing season.
CSA partners the farmer with the CSA members, as they share the risks but also the rewards of the each growing season together. The sale of CSA shares shares early in the year helps farmers afford the big expenses they incur each year in winter and spring for items like seed, compost, supplies, and new tools. In return, CSA membership helps consumers learn about seasonal eating, get the very freshest, healthiest produce, be introduced to new vegetables and ways of cooking them, and build community amongst like-minded eaters.
There are 20 weekly pick-ups with our Summer CSA, from mid/late June through late October/early November, and our Late Fall CSA operates in November and December. Keep reading to find out more about the Summer CSA, or head over to the Late Fall CSA page!
WHAT MAKES DIRT RICH CSA DIFFERENT
In the Dirt Rich Farm CSA, you always get to choose exactly what vegetables you eat. Don’t like kale? You never have to get kale. Love kale? Take lots of it!
Your vegetables are clean and of the highest quality. We take pride in offering a beautiful and diverse selection of produce, and We know you don’t want to take home a pile of soil with your potatoes!
Our size also affords us the ability to offer a highly personalized touch. We make an effort to learn every member's name and face. We try to get an idea of what they like to eat so we can make informed suggestions about what to do with our produce. You aren’t just another consumer to us, you are part of our community.
In case you aren’t convinced
“Our health has improved greatly. Vegetables have become the main focus of our meals simply because we have loved the variety and they are delicious. We are trying new veggies that we have never eaten before. The owner of Dirt Rich Farm is a great source of information about each vegetable and different ways to prepare them. I never have to worry about pesticides!”
DONNA AND PAUL RAUff
“My first experience with Dirt Rich Farms was in 2019 when I purchased a full share from Laura and Ryan. I ended up being blown away by the produce quality, the variety of crops (including surprises like mushrooms and eggs!), and the care put into soil health and sustainability.”
LEAH COMERFORD
“Last year was my first year doing the CSA, and I've already signed up to do it again. It's money well spent and you'll learn a lot along the way, like how to cook kohlrabi (turns out that it's pretty tasty once you know what to do with it!) My husband and I got the Sampler Share and it was more than enough for the two of us.”
